Donald McKay Collins passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family in Credit Valley Hospital on Wednesday December 28, 2016 in Mississauga, Ont at the age of 95.
Donald is survived by his Daughter (Joyce, husband Jim) Son (Ron, wife Dale) Daughter (Heather, husband Gary) Son (Ian, wife Denise), Sister (Christina) preceded in death by his loving wife (Muriel). Proud and loving grandfather (papa) of 8 grandchildren (Joshua, Jordan, Sean, Eric, Jennifer, Veronica, Steven and Haily and 7 great-grandchildren (Avery, Jayden, Sienna, McKai, Hannah, Logan, Dahlia)
Donald was born on October 16, 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland, to parents (Donald McKay Collins and Margaret Collins nee Sinclair). In June 1947 Donald married Muriel Coy. In 1951 Donald immigrated to Canada with his wife Muriel and daughter Joyce and settled in Caledon East until purchasing a home in Malton where they lived for many years. Donald was a veteran of the Second World War.
Donald will be missed dearly by all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life is yet to be confirmed. The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Credit Valley Hospital for all their compassion.
