Donald “Donnie” Hayes Jr. passed away on September 5th, 2018 at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge in Cornwall, Ontario, at the age of 72.
Mr. Hayes was born on September 26th, 1946 in Ottawa, to Donald Alvin Hayes Sr. and Betty (Gabriel) Hayes. He had a career that spanned many years working for Gervais and Ottawa Towing, as well as long haul trucking. He loved everything about cars, especially his 1956 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria, “Naughty ‘n Nice”.
Mr. Hayes is survived by his daughter Julie Hayes (Shaun) of Ottawa, ON; his son, Jason Hayes of Halifax, NS; his sisters, Patricia Covey of Cornwall, ON and Lorna Gilmore (Robert) of Ottawa, ON; six grandchildren (Taylor, Ethan, Emmalee, Mackenzie, Jacob, and Ellie); one great-grandchild (Aiden); and step-son Joel Menard (and family) of Kingston, ON. Predeceased by his sister Marion Krienke (Kevin).
An informal Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 22nd from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m at the Rockcliffe Park Community Centre Hall (attached to Library), 380 Springfield Road, Ottawa, ON. All are welcome. More information at https://www.facebook.com/events/552686635189754/ .
