Donald Lyle Hodgkins

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Donald Lyle Hodgkins after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Friday May 13th, 2016 at the age of 65. Survived by his loving wife Cheryl ( Delano) of 42 years and loving father of Jennifer (Denis), Kristopher and Carrie-Ann (Ryan). Donald was employed by GM as a tester & tool setter for 30 years retiring in 2007 where he kept in contact with many of his co-workers. He served in the militia, was an avid sports fan, played organized hockey & baseball and enjoyed playing on the euchre & cribbage leagues with his many dear and thoughtful friends from the Wellness Center, Winstonville Seniors, Royal Canadian Legion and the Rex Hotel. Proud grandfather of Brianne (Ian), Brooklyn (Mat), Blair (Dylan) and Sophie. Great Grandfather of Mya and Rachel. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Lyle & Ethel (Reid). Dear brother of Suzanne (Maurice), Gladys (the late Patsy), Janet ( the late Len), Faye (Bob), Tom and Mary-Lou (Joe). Son-in-law of Cliff & Joyce Delano and brother-in-law of Linda Delano. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held and the celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday May 25, 2016 from 2-5 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 383 Morningstar Ave. (downstairs) in Welland. Donations to the Diabetes, Heart or Leukemia foundations can be made in honour of Donald Lyle Hodgkins.

A private family service will be held and the celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday May 25, 2016 from 2-5 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 383 Morningstar Ave. (downstairs) in Welland
