Donald Anthony Maurice McPherson

Donald Anthony Maurice McPherson, 76, St.Albert, Ontario, passed away on July 21, 2023, surrounded by close family. Donald, known to most as “Bamba”, was born on April 27, 1947, in Montreal Quebec, to Donald Farquar & Ann Maude McPherson née Enright.

Donald was predeceased by his parents and by his Brother Stephen. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura-Lynn McPherson née Holtom, and their eleven children; his three brothers; 58 grandchildren; and many other relatives, and friends.

A Rosary will be held at St. Clement Parish, 528 Old St. Patrick St, Ottawa at 10:00am on Friday, July 28, 2023, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30am. The Burial will be at St.Raphael’s Catholic Church Ruins Cemetery 19998 County Rd. 18, Williamstown, Ontario. A reception will follow at 1374 Route 600 West St.Albert, Ontario around 4:00pm

He had a strong devotion to St.Joseph, The Mass, The Blessed Virgin Mary and Her Rosary;  if ever you were in trouble he always pointed to Her.

In his final days he was able to die peacefully at home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, singing hymns and praying the Rosary. He called it his “little heaven before Heaven”. On his last breath, he pointed his finger to The Blessed Virgin, as if to repeat once more, to put all our confidence and trust in Her.
