TRUMBLE, Douglas Carl - Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Douglas (Doug) Carl Trumble passed away on Friday, August 20th at the age of 81. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Orval Trumble, Sylvia, Earl, Arthur, Ken, Ernie and Claude. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his children Jan (Garth), Lance (Amy), Kim (Randy), Douglas (Sonya), and grandchildren Robyn, Morgan, Ben, Sam, Adam, Hannah, Grant, and Claire. Doug was born in Deloro, Ontario on May 20th, 1940, the youngest of seven children. Doug spent his youth in the Marmora/Madoc area where he went to high school and was captain of the football team. It is here that he met Sandra, the love of his life and “hottest chick in town”. Doug has always been a man with high moral character, so it surprised no one when he moved to Regina to start his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. His life in the RCMP saw him move through many communities including small towns like Sprague, MB and Chesley, ON and cities like Winnipeg and, finally, Ottawa. When the Canadian government decided to create the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, Doug was asked to join the agency and helped lead their training and development programs. This last job saw him move to the Barrie area, where he spent over 35 year. At every stop he made, Doug left behind an indelible mark on the communities and made friendships that last to this day with his kindness and generosity. Doug loved to laugh and was always up for a good prank. More than anything though, Doug’s greatest love was for his beautiful wife Sandra, his children and his grandchildren. The family homes, 2 of which he built with his own hands, were filled with the sights of friends and family and the sounds of laughter, children playing and the ever-present crackling fire in the wood stove. Doug was tremendously proud of his grandchildren and it was not uncommon to see his eyes well up when he spoke of them. The family wishes to thank Dr. Iocca, Dr. Russell, Dr. Lai and Dr. Boushy for their care. Also, the family would like to make a special thank you to all the staff and nurses at Amica Little Lake for the support and comfort they provided Doug, Sandra and the entire family over the past couple of months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone who wishes to honour Doug, to pay it forward, by doing something they love with the people they love. Douglas Trumble Douglastrumble@rogers.com
