Edith Grossman (nee Nellist)
May 7, 1934 – Nov 26, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Grossman (nee Nellist) at age 87 on November 26, 2021.
Edith was a child in Yorkshire, England during WW2. She immigrated to Canada in the 1950s where she met her husband, Bill. After raising her children, she worked in the 80s and 90s at Amstel and Lakeport breweries in Hamilton. She loved gardening, birdwatching, nature walks, and reading mysteries, and kept her wicked sense of humour to the end.
Edith has left behind her husband Bill, son David (Paul), daughter Julia Robbins (Dave), and granddaughter Sarah, as well as her cousin Ann, brothers Arthur and David, and their families.
The family would like to thank the kindness of those caring for Edith at Idlewyld Manor and Bertram Place, and the wonderful neighbours on Sunrise, who made it possible for her to enjoy her home and garden that much longer.
At Edith’s request there will be no service. Donations may be made in her memory to Hope for Dementia www.hopefordementia.org or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada www.alzheimer.ca
