Edith Mary Tierney, at the age of 93, at Revera Heartwood, Cornwall with family beside her on October 6th 2018. Known as "Ant" to her family and "Miss T" to her co workers, Edith was born in Hawkesbury, ON. She started working for the Bank of Nova Scotia upon graduation from Rockland High School, eventually moving to the position of Assistant Manager with the Cornwall branch, one of the first females to hold a management position.
Edith enjoyed many a good game of bridge or euchre with friends and family and always loved to have a good cup of tea. However her true passion was her family. "Ant" shared a home with her parents and then later, with her sister, Marjorie. Though she never married, her sisters' children and grandchildren became ‘her own' and share many memories of love and laughter, often around a deck of cards. Her love of all things Christmas and Santa will always be remembered, especially each holiday season.
Edith will be lovingly remembered by her sister Marjorie McLaren (Cornwall), her many nieces and nephews, their spouses, partners, and families, as well as her friends. She is predeceased by her parents Patrick Tierney (Pembroke) and Gladys Harding (Hawkesbury), sister Eileen and brother in law Jack Boardman (London), brother-in-law Lyle McLaren (Cornwall), and grandnephew Curtis McLaren (Markham).
In keeping with Edith's wishes a private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Hub for Beyond 21 Foundation, PO Box 1901 Stn Main, Cornwall, ON, K6H 6N6, would be appreciated.
