1923 - 2012
It is with heavy heart that the
families of Edward Chlan announce his passing on October 17, 2012 at the age of
89. Survived by his loving wife Mary Huston-Chlan (nee Connolly), his children
Graham (Gail), Marlene (Dennis), his step-children Maryanne (Dan), Elizabeth
(David), David (Donna), Philip and John Huston.
He also leaves behind his sisters Sophie, Anne, and Lavona and brother Orest.
Cherished Grandfather of Alison, Victoria, Lauren, Adrienne, Kurt (Catherine),
Karla, Renee (James) and Brendan (Rikki) and his great grand children, Erika,
Birch, Noel, Keeley, Teagan and Kolbi. Predeceased by 11 sisters and brothers.
Ed was a WWII veteran and proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer
Reserves from 1942-1945. He moved from Flin Flon Manitoba to Elliot Lake in
1957 and eventually retired from Denison Mines. He moved to a senior's home in
Toronto in 2010 to be closer to family. Cremation services will be held in
Mississauga and his ashes will be interred in Elliot Lake at a later date. His
gentle nature and ready smile will be missed by all.
