Edward (Panny) Waterman

WATERMAN, Edward Albert (AKA) Panny (Aug. 8, 1937 – May 5, 2021). Passed away peacefully at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare after a battle with cancer.  Edward was born in Georgetown, Guyana into a large family and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1972, where he resided until his passing.

Edward is survived by his wife Joan Waterman, children Donna Viera, Aileen Edwards and Mark Waterman. Father-in-law of Michael Viera, Jeffrey Edwards and Julie Smith. Stepfather to Sandra Alleyne, Noel Alleyne and the late Gwen Letlow Grandfather of Tyrone, Ashley, Ryan, Danielle, Adam, Duncan, Travis, Marcus, and the late Jerome and Justin Waterman. Great-grandfather of Alyssa and Sean. He is predeceased by the mother of his children, Norma Alleyne.

He is remembered by his siblings, Sheila Dummett, Nuburn Waterman, Miriam Moore, Pauline Waterman and Patrick George of the United States of America.  Jean Cadogan and Elma Thomas of the United Kingdom and the late Annie Corry, Blanche Benjamin, Winston and Hugh Waterman. He is also remembered by his nieces, nephews and other family and friends throughout Canada, the United States, England and Guyana.

Our extreme gratitude goes to all the doctors and nurses at Bridgepoint, who took wonderful care of him during his stay.

In memory of Edward, donations to the Sinai Health Foundation or the Canadian Cancer society would be greatly appreciated.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be returned to Georgetown, Guyana at a later date, where there will be a celebration of his life and his ashes will be scattered.
