Elaine Bourdon 1934-2022 - Retired Teacher
With loving hearts we announce the passing of Elaine Ann Bourdon.
Elaine Bourdon (nee Colgan) passed away peacefully in Ottawa on 31 Jan 2022 while at Longfields Long Term Care Home, just following her 88th birthday.
She is remembered by her family as a caring, loving and patient Mom.
Her friends describe her as a special lady with a sharp sense of humour.
She is survived by her sister Phyllis Lasnier of Vermont and brother Clifford Colgan of Florida; daughters, Diane Jackson and her husband Rene Gauthier; Donna Toole; Dina Bourdon and her fiancé, Paul Backs.
She was a proud Grammy to Amanda, Collin, Corey, Krista, Victoria, and Matthew.
Most recently Elaine became great-grandmother to Sawyer Frederick and Melodie Elaine.
Numerous nieces and nephews share fond memories of Elaine.
Elaine was predeceased by her mother, Bessie LaBombard Colgan; her father, Royal Clayton Colgan; her sisters, Melba Colgan, Murial DaPrato (nee Colgan) and her brothers, Clorith, Donald, and Robert Colgan.
Elaine's teaching career was her passion where she had a special place in her heart serving students with special needs as a special education resource teacher. St. Bernard's Catholic School was her second home in her final 20 years prior to retiring in 1996.
A celebration of life is planned at a later date in her home state of Vermont.
