Elizabeth Kelly Fairfield

Elizabeth Kelly Fairfield of Ottawa born May 28, 1931 passed away on October 5, 2022 at  the Gatineau Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by four children; David (Cathy) Fairfield, Michael Fairfield, Katherine Fairfield, Patrick (Lauren) and Roger Fairfield, her children's father. Grandmother to Randy (Sheena) Fairfield, Elise (Sean) Sweeney and Jacob (Rose) Quaile and a great grandmother (G.G.) to William, Connor, Jack and Liam. She will be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Leo McKee, many nieces and nephews (in particular, the perfect Peters.) Betty is predeceased by her dear parents William and Gertrude (McGuire) Kelly, as well as her siblings whom she held close to her heart; Eleanor, Kenny, Gertrude, William (her twin brother), Derek and Marilyn.

Lovingly referred to by family and friends as “Saint Betty '' she will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor. Betty was a devout Catholic, a loving mother, both great and grand. Her two most favorite things were spoiling her grandchildren and relieving her son Dave of his money while sports betting.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and a funeral mass will be held at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church in Gatineau on Friday October 14th at 1:00 p.m. followed by burial at Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario or Shepherds of Good Hope.

The family would like to thank Father Murray, the doctors, nurses and staff at Gatineau Hospital for their incredible kindness and  care.
