Elizabeth (née Christie) Whan

Elizabeth was a beautiful soul who loved everyone she ever met, with a zest for life and an open mind to a world of adventure. She sadly passed on October 30 after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family and her two children, Stephanie and Christopher.

Elizabeth, or Libby as she was known to everyone who knew her, was born to Parlane and Mary Christie (née: Sage) on Dec. 21, 1962. The 5th of 7 children, she grew up surrounded by the love and friendship of her siblings, Graham (Paula), Gordon (Debbie), Robert, Richard (Annette), Mary (Joa) and Michael (Yvonne). Family was always the most important thing to Libby and she loved spending time with each and every one of them.

Libby is survived by her children, Christopher (Lauren) and Stephanie (Timothy) and her grandchildren.
Izabelle, Kinsley, Lincoln and Clarke meant the world to "Grammie" as she liked to be called. She was always the one rolling around on the floor, swimming in the pool, changing a diaper or feeding a fussy baby anytime she could.

Libby was predeceased by her long-time partner Vernon (Junior) Edward Denna Jr. Her parents Parr and Mary Christie and her brother, Gordon.

Libby was a light in everyone's life. Her unquestionable and unconditional love towards family and friends will never be forgotten.

A memorial service is scheduled for 12 pm on November 20 at the First Baptist Church at 110 Sydenham St. in Kingston, Ont.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute in Libby's name.
