Emperatriz del Pilar Gonzalez

Our beloved Emperatriz del Pilar Gonzalez Mejias passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, May 10th, 2023,  at the age of 93 with the love of her family surrounding her.

Though she has left this world, Pilar's loving heart will remain forever with us. Her spirit is carried on by her loving family and friends from all walks of life.

As the eldest, Pilar took great pride in caring for her two siblings (Clelia & Carlos), as well as her dearest mother. Showing great bravery, Pilar made her way to Canada in the 80s where she worked hard, and continuously cared for everyone around her. Pilar was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring person, and she spoiled everyone around her with her kindness and generosity. Pilar always had a strong connection to her Chilean culture and traditions, whereby participating in typical Chilean dances along with her friends and family brought her great joy.

She will be missed by her niece and nephews; Marcela, Carlos Emilio & Mario. In addition to her great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

The family wishes to thank all those who have extended emotional support during this time and would like for you to join us and celebrate Pilar's beautiful life. A memorial service will be held on Sunday May 21st, 2023 from 1-3 PM at St.Johns Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium.

Nuestra querida Emperatriz del Pilar Gonzalez Mejias falleció en paz la mañana del Miércoles 10 de Mayo de 2023 a la edad de 93 años, rodeada del amor de su familia. Aunque ha dejado este mundo, el corazón amoroso de Pilar permanecerá para siempre con nosotros. Su espíritu es llevado por su amada familia y amigos de todos los ámbitos de la vida. Como la mayor, Pilar se enorgullecía de cuidar a sus dos hermanos (Clelia y Carlos), así como a su querida madre. Mostrando una gran valentía, Pilar llegó a Canadá en los años 80, donde trabajó duro y se preocupó continuamente por todos los que la rodeaban. Pilar fue influenciada por su familia para ser una persona cariñosa, donde mimaba a todos los que la rodeaban con su amabilidad y generosidad. Pilar siempre tuvo una fuerte conexión con su cultura y tradiciones Chilenas, por lo que participar en los bailes típicos Chilenos junto a sus amigos y familiares le producía una gran alegría. Su sobrina y sobrinos la extrañarán; Marcela, Carlos Emilio y Mario. Además de sus sobrinas y sobrinos nietos, así como numerosos familiares y amigos. La familia desea agradecer a todos aquellos que han brindado apoyo emocional durante este tiempo, y les gustaría que se unan a nosotros y celebren la hermosa vida de Pilar. Se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo el Domingo 21 de Mayo de 2023 de 1 a 3 p. m. en el cementerio y crematorio St. Johns Dixie
