Born February 11, 1921 (Germany); died May 22, 2016 (Newmarket, Ontario). Husband of Waltraud, father of Wolfgang (Nora), Ruediger, Norbert and the late Angelika. Grandfather of Carly and Brittany. Predeceased by his parents, Ludvig and Henrietta.
Eric’s young adulthood included a military career of several years that culminated in his experience as a prisoner of war in Russia. Following his discharge from the army, Eric met and married Waltraud (Wally) and together they had four children, of whom three survived. In 1954, Eric moved his family from Germany to Canada, settling in North York, Ontario to raise their three sons. A welder by trade, Eric worked hard to provide for his family and together they enjoyed cottage life on Burnt River in Fenelon Falls for many years.
Following retirement, he and Wally moved to Newmarket, Ontario, where Wally still resides.
A private family burial service has taken place.
