Ernest Chapman

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Chapman on March 17th, 2023 at Brampton Civic Hospital.  Ernest is survived by, Avis Chapman (wife of 67 years), JoAnne Chapman-Carroll (daughter), Barry Carroll (son in law), Kimberly Chapman (daughter), Mark Chapman (son), Amanda Chapman (daughter-in-law). He is also survived by 9 loving grandchildren Dana, Ashley, Denim, Melissa, Kyle, Jessie, Sarah, Krystal and Scott. Ernest was blessed with 13 great grandchildren.

Ernest enjoyed making furniture for family and friends, Ernie especially loved making wooden rocking horses and toys for his grandchildren. Golf was Ernie's favorite sport and he especially enjoyed playing with his wife Avis.

In his early years Ernie was a Tool & Die maker, later becoming a Police Constable for some 30 years with The Metro Toronto Police Department, Badge #254.

Ernie was a devoted and proud Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. His smile and presence in a room was never to go unnoticed and always cherished by whomever met him. Integrity, honesty and love was always his message to those who knew him and he will be remembered by many for his wisdom, caring and terrific sense of humour.
