Evelyn May Blackhall 1930-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn May Blackhall announces her peaceful passing at her Scarborough home on Thursday February 22, 2018, at age 87.
Evelyn was born in Toronto Ont. She married Roy Blackhall and they lived in Scarborough with their three children. Evelyn created a loving caring home for her family and friends. She was always welcoming with a cup of tea and a sweet treat. Evelyn became more involved in the family run business as her children grew. After retirement, Evelyn and Roy enjoyed traveling with family and friend. Evelyn had many interests. She was an active member of St. Crispin Anglican Church since 1953 and Grace Church after the churches merged. She enjoyed local theatre and concerts at Scarborough Village, flower shows and classes with Scarborough Horticulture Society, ceramics and folk art painting classes and watching figure skating completions.
Evelyn is predeceased by her beloved husband Roy. She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Dave) Dunkley, Diane Bates, James Blackhall. Her nine grandchildren, Nicole, Joel, Jordon, Richard, Christopher, Allison, Deborah, Elizabeth and John. Her eight great grandchildren, her sisters Edith Burnet, Doreen (Bob) Jackson, Her brothers John (Marty) Trimble, Joseph (Eleanor) Trimble, Her sisters-in-law Joyce Barron, Barbara (John) McKenzie. Evelyn will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorial Service March 17 2018 at 11:00 am Grace Church 700 Kennedy Road Scarborough, Ont.
A social will follow in the church hall. Food and refreshments will be served
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Grace Church.
The family extends sincere thanks to the many supports they received from the caring staff of Saint Elizabeth, Valerie Joseph, and the wonderful staff of the Scarborough for a Healthier Community.
