Evelyn Marie Gagnon (nee Cenname) passed suddenly on the 4th of October at the RVH in Barrie, Ontario. She was born and raised in Lytton BC and met her future husband (of almost 60 years) Marc Gagnon while both were serving at RCAF Station Aylmer. Once wed, Evelyn had to resign from the forces as was required at the time. Marc continued his long successful military career. Evelyn and Marc travelled and lived across Canada and many parts of Europe in their younger years, finally retiring in Trenton Ontario. Later they moved to the IOOF in Barrie where they made many friends and acquaintances. Special thanks to the staff there, particularly in Baldwin Lane for their attention and care. A heartfelt thank you to Dr John Maher (neurologist) also, for his diagnosis and successful treatment of Evelyn’s myasthenia gravis in the last few years of her life. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, small nasty dogs, gardening, bingo (always a winner) and of course shopping. She is survived by her sister Rita; daughters Louise, Renee, and Brenda; seven grand children and ten great grandchildren, in whom she took much pride and joy. Evelyn was a singular woman and will be missed by all. Rest in peace Ev.
