Evelyn Maud Paddock (1928 - 2017)
Evelyn Paddock, passed away in her sleep at Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on the morning of August 17th. Her children and grandchildren had been at her side for most of her last two days. Evelyn is survived by three children, Jancis (Heinbecker), Robert, and Edward; 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Her husband Arthur passed away in 1991.
Evelyn grew up on a small farm in England, emigrating to Canada in 1952 with her husband and baby daughter. After a brief initial stay in Toronto where Robert was born they moved to Penn Avenue in Newmarket, Ontario. In Newmarket she was involved in as a Girl Guide leader, softball coach, and the local Avon Lady.
She moved to Spruce Lane in Elliot Lake in the 1970's and spend many years there until required to move into a nursing home a few years ago. In Elliot Lake, she remained active as the Avon Lady, working for the Canadian census, and helping with local elections. Forever the English woman, she loved her garden and was always ready and willing to put on the kettle and share a cup of tea. Outgoing and chatty she will be missed by friends and family.
