It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frances in her 82nd year at home in the loving presence of her family. She was the only daughter of Elizabeth McKeon and Stanley Dunn. Loving wife of 58 years to Paul, she will be deeply missed by him and by their loving children David (Amy), Stephanie (Chris). Michelle (Raph), Raymond (Jennifer), Madeleine (Scott), Malinda and grandchildren to whom she was most caring and giving; Dominic, Camryn, Syanna, Mikael, Amelia, Lily and Gabriel.
Frances earned her B.Sc degree from St. Patrick’s College and taught secondary school science and math. She later earned special education qualifications and taught at the intermediate level. While she was a wonderful strong and determined woman, her kind and generous approach to family, friends and students led to her being widely respected, appreciated and loved.
Her retirement years were devoted in part to pursuing her talent as a visual artist and to growing plants and flowers both indoors and out. She also loved spending time at the cottage in the Gatineau hills. She will always be fondly remembered in the hearts of her dear friends and family.
Frances manifested her compassion through her longtime support of disadvantaged children in foreign countries. To honour Frances' memory, please consider a charitable donation to SOS Children’s Villages Canada at 613 232-3309 in lieu of flowers.
Special thanks goes to the medical staff at the General Hospital and to the Palliative Care staff who provided home care in her final weeks. A Service and Celebration of Life will take place on Friday January 31, 11 am at St. Augustine Parish, 1060 Baseline Rd. Nepean.
