Francesco Fisico

August 18, 1945 — August 28, 2023

It's sometimes difficult to express how much someone means to you. In one moment they're here, and in the next, they're gone. In our case, we were fortunate enough to have played some "extra innings" with our dad.

We are all at a loss of words mourning the passing of our father, Francesco Fisico. He leaves behind the most loving, wonderful wife, mother and nana Annie to whom he was married to for 39 years this past June. A loving father to Carmine (Alexandra), Aine, John (Jacinthe), and Frank Jr. (Jessica), a Grand-papa to Kalya and a Nanootz to Audrey, and his beloved dogs, Jimmy and Mitzy.

He was beloved by his in-laws (Sheila, Maggie, Michael, Wilma, the late Sarah, and Sam), nieces and nephews, cousins, and family friends.

He was born and raised in Domanico, Cosenza, Italy on August 18, 1945 and recently celebrated his 78th birthday. He came to Canada on November 15, 1961 and worked to become a skilled French Polisher where he mastered the craft of furniture refinishing, colour matching and polishing by hand, working alongside his compare, Frank and good friend Giovanni.

He loved spending time with his family, either at home or at the cottage, almost as much as spending time working in his gardens.

He was our coach and Uber driver (long before it's hayday) to baseball and hockey practices and games. He always had a very cheerful and positive outlook on life and did not have one cruel bone in his body.

Long after his retirement, he continued his passion of french polishing and was always on the lookout for restoring and giving new life to old furniture.

We would like to thank the teams at the Neuroendocrine Clinic at the Odette Cancer Centre, and the Cardiac Care team at Sunnybrook Hospital, which was his second home for the past decade.

We would also like to thank the team and staff from Humber River Hospital where they eased his transition from this life to the next. Lastly, we would like to thank Dr. Hughes, his family physician for over 40 years.

The family requests privacy at this time, and will not be having a funeral or visitation service.

A celebration of life will occur at a future date.

Donations can be made to the Toronto Humane Society, Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital, Humber River Hospital or a charity of your choice.
