Frank McMonagle

December 31, 1939 — December 9, 2024

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Frank McMonagle announce his passing on December 9th, 2024, which was just shy of his 85th birthday. He is survived by Cathie, his wife of 43 years; his son, Frank; his daughter-in-law, Suzy; and grandchildren, Brandon and Emily. We were so fortunate and proud to call him a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbour; he meant so much to so many.

Frank was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and settled in Mississauga some 60 years ago, where he raised the family that loved him more than words can express. He was a hard working, intelligent and straightforward person that was not afraid to express his opinion, but was always respectful of others. He had a definite soft spot for his grandchildren, his sister-in-law Agnes, and his nieces and nephew. He never missed an opportunity to tease them or make a funny face with his Scottish humour. He always showed concern for others and was willing to assist where help was needed.

Frank was a rock solid individual and a genuinely likeable person. He enjoyed travel, live entertainment, movies and bowling; he was competitive and liked to win. We will greatly miss his positive spirit and the fact he could always be counted on to do the right thing. He was a good role model that led by example and was consistent and reliable in his approach to life. We console ourselves with the many great memories we shared and with the lessons he has taught.

A celebration of life will take place in early Spring, where we can collectively share memories and reminisce about our time with him.
