On Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in his quiet home on the river, surround by loved ones and his faithful yellow lab, Toby, Gaetan (Gitz) peacefully went to Heaven to be with his Saviour, after a painful battle with cancer.
Gaetan is survived by his stepmom Francine Latreille, loving wife and best friend Deborah, siblings Andre (Kathy), Jocelyn (Karen), Pete (Cyndi), Joanne (Rudy), sons Joel, Jordan and stepson Michael (Julie) and many nephews and cousins. Gaetan was predeceased by his son Joshua. Gaetan took great pride in his work for the Counties Road Dept. plowing snow and cutting grass for 30 years. He was famous for his unforgettable and contagious sense of humour which his illness did not alter.
Gaetan was a devoted son, husband, father, brother and true friend to many; a loving, kind and honest man who loved Jesus and not only talked the talk, but walked the walk in his Christian faith. Those blessed to know him will never forget him and he will be dearly missed.
The professional care and compassion of Dr. Poilly and the Bayshore Angels was greatly appreciated by Gaetan and his family. Support from family and friends, including Mike and Olive Theoret, Pat and Louis Delorme and Dan and Deb Tourigny will not be forgotten.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the Joy of the Lord.” Matthew 25:21
Beloved Gaetan, (Minnow Man), Every day I am on earth is one day closer to being with you in Heaven. Love you, Deborah (Duck Lady). Rest in Peace.
Donations to OSPCA would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, as per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
