On January 16 the world and Gail's family lost a mother, wife , daughter and cherished friend. Gail was born and raised in Oshawa. "Tots” attended O'Neill collegiate where she was active in sports and was a cheerleader. She decided to pursue a career in nursing, graduating from Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in the TGH Respiratory Care Unit, a high-level ICU at the time. There she met and soon married Rob. Gail had three children, Andrea, Tom and Jon; she always had dogs, and usually cats and birds. Later in life she graduated to horses. Gail and her family lived in Morristown, Tennessee for fifteen years, where she worked as a school nurse and was adored by her special needs students. She returned to Canada to be close to the extended family she loved. Gail was strong of mind but soft at heart. One never had a doubt as to what she thought, and her willingness to express her opinions might cause her children to squirm, but that was all part of the package. Her love of animals was legend. Watching her visit with her adoptees in her last days was truly bittersweet. Gail left this world on her terms, with mind intact but body humbled by a neurological condition. She was surrounded at death by her loving family, her children, her mother Betty Jollow and her husband. She also leaves her brother Dean grandson Kidd and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished in laws. Gail had asked that we express to all how much she loved them, but those who knew her really do not need to be reminded.
In lieu of flowers a small donation to the Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue may be made. www.whhrescue.com .
Gail had requested that no services be held on her behalf.
