Gaston Delphis Simard

Gaston (Gus) Simard of Ottawa ON passed away on August 26, 2016 at the age of 80. He was a Veteran who served with the Canadian Armed Forces before retiring in 1985. He then worked for the Department of National Defense as a civilian for a total of 45 years. Gus is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Sabourin), daughters Patti (Karl), Diane (Michael), his son Eduard as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gus was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister, first wife Pat (Hughes) and his two sons Raymond and Alfred. A short service and tribute will be held graveside on August 31, 2016 at 11 am at the Notre Dame Cemetery 455 Montreal Road Ottawa, followed with a small toast to Gus at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 632, 800 Taylor Creek Road in Orleans. All that knew Gus are encouraged to bring their memories with them to share with friends and family.
