Genevieve (Genny) Maloney-Zoschke

Genevieve passed away peacefully in hospital with her brother by her side at the age of 75 on Friday, March 3, 2023 from complications further to surgery.

Loving mother of her daughter, Carol-Ann Zoschke-McRae, her husband Perry, grandsons Travis (Heather) and Cody (Kyla), and her great grandchildren Jack & Noelle. Will be sadly missed by her brother Casey (Helen). Fondly remembered by her nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Conrad, Mary, step-mother Gertrude, her brother Tommey as well as long time partner Carl McConnery and former spouse Albert Zoschke.

Genevieve was proud of her 37 year career at Canada Post and her numerous years as a bartender on weekends with the Loyal Order of the Moose. Former member of The Women of the Moose (Loyal Order of the Moose); Catholic Women’s League (Assumption Parish) and Ladies’ Auxiliary (The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 462).

Thanks to all the staff at The Ottawa Hospital General Campus especially the nurses, doctors and support staff on the 6th floor (North East) and the 7th floor (East) for their care and compassion during these last few months.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.

A funeral mass in Genevieve’s memory will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 320 Olmstead Street, Ottawa, Ontario. The family will receive condolences at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow the mass at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 462, 294 Cyr Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario.
