It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our much-loved father, George Webster Fraser, who left us on October 28, 2024, at the age of 79. Surrounded by family, George's final moments at Margaret Bahen Hospice were full of the love he so freely gave throughout his life.
George was not only a devoted father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend; he was a loving husband to his late wife Donalda. Now, they are reunited, together forever.
While health complications had diminished his ability for walking in recent years, he has faced these challenges with an unwavering spirit. He taught us the value of resilience, embracing new life experiences even in adversity.
He was a fan of the 50's & 60's but mostly classic country music. Being a skilled card player, he shared this gift with others, creating joyful memories with his "witty remarks" ; his competitive and playful nature shone brightly for the other players around the table. George was a pillar of strength to our family and his community. Full of loving-kindness, laughter, and faith, he touched the lives of many.
Predeceased by his parents, Mary and George, and siblings, Barbara, Sheila, Theron, Muriel, Wilrose, Edwina, Marjorie and Rheal, his twin daughter Connie and close friend and co-worker Dana.
He is survived by his siblings, "two peas in a pod" sister Delphine (Fred) and "Francois" brother Francis. His children: Wendy (Bill), George (Wanda), Harvey, and Thomas (Jeanne), along with his cherished grandchildren, Rhiannon (Nick), Garrett (Dana), Chandler, Dawson, Harley, Serenity, Gavin, and great-grandchild Nevaeh.
He was very close to his special sister-in-law, Cathy, who played a role in his care. His devoted friend, co-worker Chess, will miss him dearly and the long-time bond they shared.
He quickly made The Elden of Bradford, his new home thanks to the compassionate care providers and residents. Each of us carries a piece of his spirit and the lessons he imparted.
Donations are welcome to the following organizations in his memory:
-Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, for all the care that was provided during his time of need.
-Margaret Bahen Hospice, so they may continue supporting the community during a difficult time.
-Trinity Anglican Church (Bradford) for the teachings, friendship and love of faith.
-The Terry Fox Foundation, because it was true to his heart. George would walk annually, in honour for all who couldn't.
The interment of both Donalda & George will take place in Strathroy, ON. To commemorate George's incredible journey and life, a celebration in his honor will be held on June 29th, 2025 "Save the date", location to be determined.
