“Those we love can never be more than a thought away.
For as long as there is a memory, they live in our hearts to stay.”
George Provan, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 5th, 2023, at Grace Manor, after living a long and fulfilling life.
George will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Joyce, his children – Susan (Peter) and Glenn (Sara) and his four grandchildren – Corinne (Srdj), Kristin, Drew, and Lorelei.
George was born in Toronto, the second son of Christian and Robert Provan. He grew up with strong values of loyalty and commitment and those early lessons were reflected in both his personal and professional life.
George and Joyce celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2022, and their devotion to each other endured. George was equally as dedicated in his professional life, working for Hawker-Siddeley from the time he was 18 to his retirement at 65.
George will also be fondly remembered for his love of family, his passion for movies, the value of a solitary canoe ride and a good stiff rye and coke.
Life will not be the same without you.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Grace Manor for their exceptional care, especially Isha and Navjot whose dedication, communication and professionalism were exemplary.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to
Holland Christian Homes
or the
Alzheimer’s Society
would be greatly appreciated.
“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but the love they have left behind.”
