Gerard Hislop, aged 72, passed away peacefully on July 8, surrounded by loved ones after bravely battling leukemia.

Born on January 9, 1952, in Trinidad, Gerard lived a life defined by compassion, love, and resilience. He was a dedicated and hardworking man, tirelessly providing for his family.

Gerard was widely known for his kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. He had a deep passion for football, both playing and watching. His warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and his legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

Gerard is survived by his loving wife Donna, children Dane, Chantale, and Tanisha, grandchildren, sisters Norma, Joan, Phyllis, Lystra, and Kathy, as well as brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace. Your courage and spirit will always be remembered. Gone but never forgotten.

Isaiah 57:1-2

The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity; he enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness.

Psalm 23:1-4

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

John 14:1-3

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
