Gisèle (LeBlanc) Taché

Gisèle est née à New Richmond, province de Québec, le 17 août 1930, et est décédée le dimanche 5 février 2023 à l’hôpital Queensway-Carleton d’Ottawa. Elle était la fille de feu Florence Mill et Henri A. LeBlanc. Elle fût prédécédée par sa sœur Pauline et ses frères Milford, Jean-Marc, Claude, Paul-Henri et Alonzo.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses filles Joanne (Daniel Smith) et Michèle, ses petits-enfants, Gabrielle et Jordan Taché-Smith, sa sœur Yolande, ses frères Lomer (Marcelle Pelletier) et Lionel (Guy Lavallée), ses belles-sœurs Suzanne Taché LeBlanc, Isabel Cleary LeBlanc et Jocelyne Charest LeBlanc, ainsi que plusieurs autres membres de la famille.

À leur naissance en 1930, Gisèle, sa sœur Yolande et son frère Lomer, ont été les premiers triplés enregistrés dans la province de Québec. Jusqu’à sa mort, ils ont eu la distinction d’être les plus vieux triplés vivants au Canada.

Gisèle a beaucoup aimé ses années de travail au Centre national des arts où elle a eu l’occasion de satisfaire sa passion pour les arts. Lorsqu’elle a quitté le CNA, c’était pour se joindre à la fonction publique fédérale où elle y est demeurée jusqu’à sa retraite.

Gisèle était une mère et grand-mère aimante et dévouée. Elle était une cuisinière sans pareil. Elle était mordue des nouvelles et de la politique et était une lectrice avide. Elle prenait plaisir dans les choses simples de la vie et la famille était primordiale pour elle. Elle était la personne la plus heureuse lorsqu’elle pouvait jouir de la nature, que ce soit travailler dans son magnifique jardin ou juste être assise dehors pour jouir du soleil, écouter les oiseaux ou regarder les nuages passer. Elle cherchait toujours à aider les autres et avait toujours un sourire radieux!

La famille tient à remercier tout le personnel de Carleton Lodge, ainsi que le personnel de l’urgence et des soins palliatifs de l’hôpital Queensway-Carleton pour tous les bons soins et l’attention qu’ils lui ont prodigués.

Selon ses désirs, il n’y aura pas de funérailles mais elle sera ensevelie avec sa mère bien-aimée, Florence, le mardi 4 juillet 2023 à New Richmond.

Gisèle was born in New Richmond, province of Quebec, on August 17, 1930, and passed away at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital in Ottawa on Sunday February 5, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Florence Mill and Henri A. LeBlanc. She was predeceased by her sister Pauline and her brothers Milford, Jean-Marc, Claude, Paul-Henri and Alonzo.

She is survived by her daughters Joanne (Daniel Smith) and Michèle, her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jordan Taché-Smith, her sister Yolande, her brothers Lomer (Marcelle Pelletier) and Lionel (Guy Lavallée), her sisters-in-law Suzanne Taché LeBlanc, Isabel Cleary LeBlanc and Jocelyne Charest LeBlanc, well as many other family members.

At their birth in 1930, Gisèle and her two siblings, Yolande and Lomer, were the first triplets ever recorded in the province of Quebec. And up until her death, they had the distinction of being the oldest living triplets in Canada.

Gisèle thoroughly enjoyed her years working at the National Arts Center which gave her the opportunity to satisfy her passion for the arts. When she left the NAC, it was to join the federal public service where she remained until her retirement.

Gisèle was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was an amazing cook and baker. She was a news and political junkie and an avid reader. She took pleasure in the simple things in life and family was very important to her. She was always happiest enjoying nature whether she was working in her beautiful garden or just sitting outside enjoying the sun, listening to the birds and watching the clouds go by. She was always looking to help others and always had a radiant smile!

The family would like to thank the staff at Carleton Lodge, as well as the staff from the emergency department and the palliative care unit at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital for the loving care and attention they provided.

At her request, there will be no funeral but she will be laid to rest with her beloved mother, Florence, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in New Richmond.
