GRAY, GLORIA (nee CASTLE) March 30th 1920 - Passed away peacefully of natural causes at home in Scarborough at the age of 100 plus on September 18, 2020. Born in Stouffville, Ontario, to late parents Nelly and John Castle. Predeceased by loving husband Charles (1993), beloved brothers Thomas, Fred (Marion), William (Billy), Jack (Ann), sister Alice (Jack). She leaves her beloved sister Mary Knight (Hans). Beloved mother of Marlene Hamilton (nee Gray)(James Hodgson, Arthur Hamilton) and William (Bill) (Mary) Gray. Loving grandmother to John, Michael (Hamilton), Suzanne (Blair), Darren (Hamilton), and Ryan Gray. Great-grandmother to Jacinda, Mitchell, Brianna, Marshall, Megan, Tanner, Hanah, Owen, and Kayla.
Gloria was a resident of Toronto, Fenelon Falls, Port Perry, and Scarborough. As a BOMB GIRL she travelled to work from Stouffville to Ajax in a cattle truck converted to a bus to Defence Industries Ltd (DIL) supporting the war efforts while Charlie was overseas doing his part. Gloria had a 32 year career working at Royal McBee (printing) a division of Litton Industries.
Gloria's passions included celebrating holidays with family and dining out. Gloria will be dearly missed by family and all that were blessed to have her in their lives. "Truly a life well lived".
There will be no service held at this time however, a celebration of life will be planned for the Spring of 2021 in Fenelon Falls.
