It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Douglas Nowlan. He is survived by his dedicated and supportive wife of 51 years, Jean Nowlan. He will be fondly remembered by his daughters Michelle Eady (Martin Keyes) and Angela Nowlan. We are hoping that his grandchildren, Cassandra and Meghan Monsour, Garbiel Eady, Jono and Rowan Keyes cherish their memories of him for a lifetime. Doug is also survived by his treasured sisters, Joyce Hendry and Bernice Smee.
Doug had a great love for music and sports. In his youth, he was an avid tennis and golf player. His sense of humour and story-telling abilities were renowned. His welcoming spirit and warmth provided those around him with comfort. He loved putting a smile on people’s faces.
His personal relationship with God saw him through many obstacles. In church, you could always hear his amazing singing voice resonating through the crowd.
He will be missed and thought of with love by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Cemetery’s Chapel, 4660 Bank Street, Ottawa.
