Grant Leonard Redshaw

It's with heavy hearts that we announce that Grant passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Ottawa General Hospital on February 2/2022. Loving husband to Joyce Redshaw, who passed away January 1st /2010, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. The ultimate father to Colin, Stacey, Cathy(Chris), and John(Suzy). Proud Grandfather (Papa) to Storey, Chris, Shawn, Cole, Alicia, Hannah, Simon, Kaden and Abby. Born in 1934 in Oakville Ontario, only son to John and Vera Redshaw. Brother to Audrey, Doreen, Helen, and Carol.
Grant was a phenomenal athlete and avid sports fan with baseball being his first love, followed closely by hockey. Together with his close friend and business partner, Budd Brockway, they successfully coached the Oakville Mustangs to five Tri-Country Championships and Oakville's first all Ontario Championship in 33 years. Grant and Joyce retired and moved to Arthur, Ontario where they met Vern and Nancy Foley who quickly became part of the family. Vern spent many nights sitting with Grant cheering on the Blue Jays or Toronto Maple Leafs.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the amazing staff at Chartwell Retirement home in Kanata, as well as the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at Ottawa General Hospital. A celebration of Life (Grant style) will be held at a later date.
