Children Beloved father of Jenn Vetter (Peter), Terry (Cristina), Karin Staley (Travis), and Meg Pike (Matt).
Grandchildren Proud and loving grandfather of Kristina, Neil, Matt, Trenary, Ophelia, Sam, Xavier, Findley, and Liam.
Siblings Beloved brother to Erwin (Rosi) and uncle to Achim and Petra.
Parents Son of the late Margareta and Albert.
Accomplishments Born in Cologne, Germany in 1936, Hans sought adventure and emigrated to Canada at age 25 - taking a ship across the Atlantic. Hans had an incredible intellect and a great knowledge of history, politics, and languages. He had an incredible whit and a flare for the dramatic, loving to tell jokes and make his family laugh. He loved and had a deep appreciation for nature, art, photography, opera, classical & jazz music, and the theatre. A passionate artist, he was inspired by the beauty in the world around him. He was a student of the world and took every opportunity to travel and see as much as he could - capturing the natural surroundings in his photographs and paintings.
Funeral Details As per Hans’ wishes there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Special Thanks The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Scarborough General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. A special thank you to Doctors Toguri, Vertes, Seitelbach, and Abdulhussein for their kindness and care.
