Harmannus (Harry) Jan de Lange

We are sad to announce the passing of Harry, beloved husband of Brenda (nee Reid), devoted father of Alan (Kate) and Briar (Jon) and caring step-father to Neil (Becky) and Gillian (Claude). Proud Opa to Courtney, Jack, Eric, William, Kirsten, Chloe, Caylie and Michael. He was also a fondly remembered uncle.

Harry emigrated to Canada in 1953 from the Netherlands, making his way up the corporate ladder to become General Manager of Dufferin Construction, before moving to Midland, Ontario to acquire Anderson Paving, later named de Lange Asphalt Paving. In the 1990’s, he moved to Barrie to become a well respected real estate appraiser; a job he continued to enjoy until he was 89.

His family extends their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff and doctors of the Respiratory Inpatient Department at RVH, and to Kathleen for her unwavering support.
