Harold White

June 14, 1941 — December 5, 2017

On June 14, 1941, Harold Sylvester White was born to Rhoda White in St. Michael, Barbados. He was the fourth of six children and the second of the four boys. His younger brother, Edwin, passed away on August 16, 2017 in the USA.
He is survived by his sisters, Jean and Hazel. Two nieces; Carol (Canada) and Rosemary (Barbados). Nephews; Darwin (Canada), Ricardo (Barbados) and Dennis (Barbados). He is a great-uncle to nine.
Extended family residing in Montreal, New York and Barbados
He left Barbados on September 23, 1965, at the age of 24 to join his sisters Jean and Hazel in Toronto.
He spent a period of time studying in Sudbury then returned to Toronto. He worked in the construction field and at Toronto Western Hospital.
He also worked for and attended St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican church. He later became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and symbolized his dedication by water baptism on February 20th, 1982.
He was always learning and reading. He owned at least 5 dictionaries and made a point of learning new words.
Every Sunday he would call his nephew, Darwin and niece, Carol before or after the Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show aired, never during. He liked them so much that he used to tape it to watch again later.
He liked to listen to jazz and artists like Dean Martin.
Many didn't know that he used to smoke a pipe!

Burial Date: December 23, 2017

The visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Riverside Cemetery Chapel , located at 1567 Royal York Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9P 3C4. Visitation will commence at 2:30pm until 4:30pm.
