On Friday, August 24, 2018, Harry Gerald Molyneaux, loving father of four children, passed away at the age of 86.
Harry was born on November 27, 1931 in Gatineau, Quebec, to Ernest and Ruth (Draper) Molyneaux. He worked for Bell Canada in Toronto, Ontario, until retiring in 1986. On May 30, 1953, he married Lillian Betty Jasper at Our Lady of the Assumption in Toronto. Together they raised three daughters, Patricia, Susan and Mary, and one son, Michael.
Harry had a passion for reading, and loved everything from Agatha Christie to Nora Roberts. He also loved to watch Murder She Wrote, and watched reruns faithfully five nights a week. He did not mind being teased about it. He loved music, and was fond of Charley Pride, Harry Belafonte, and Nana Mouskouri. He was a quiet man who appreciated the help of his neighbours, in particular, Doug Pattison.
Although not a worldly traveller, Harry had visited such exotic locations as Sudbury, Montreal, Schomberg, North Bay and the cottage. He even managed to get as far as Florida, where together with Lillian he would watch dog races and manta rays.
Harry loved his garden, and spent countless hours weeding and cursing before finally turning it over to the rabbits and raccoons. He spent hours constructing model airplanes from WWI and WWII, and proudly displayed them on custom built shelves..
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 1985. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, and his mother, Ruth, as well as his siblings Marjorie, Dorothy (Dot), Chesley (Chet), Emmeline (Em), Lois and Ernest (Douglas).
He is survived by his daughter Patricia, his daughter Susan and her wife Kelly, his daughter Mary and her wife Tina, and his son Michael and his wife Jan and Michael’s children, Shelby and Taylor.
At Harry’s request, there will not be a funeral, but donations to a local cancer centre are welcome. Harry Molyneaux will be interred next to Lillian Molyneaux at the Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst St., Toronto, Ontario.
