Henri Joseph Raymond Goguen

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henri Joseph Raymond Goguen, age 77, at his home in Elmvale, Ontario on Friday, August 9, 2024. Deeply loved by his family, Henri leaves behind three daughters Paula Goguen, Teresa Goguen, and Christine Goguen, one Bonus Daughter Heather Brown as well as six grandchildren Amy Goguen, Dustin Goguen, Tianna Goguen, Elicia Goguen, Dylan Goguen, and Taia Goguen with three Bonus Grandchildren Samantha Snow, Kayla Snow, Joey Snow, along with 10 great-grandchildren. 

Born in Scouduc, New Brunswick on August 1st, 1947 to parents Gerald Goguen and Rita (Goguen) LeBlanc, Henri was the beloved eldest brother of five siblings; Cora Goguen (deceased), Geraldine Claes, Ricki Goguen, Denise Goguen (deceased), Michelline Goguen (Mony) and a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. 

A light in the lives of many, Henri lived by his own rules, never taking life too seriously and seizing every opportunity to spread laughter with his hilarious (and sometimes inappropriate) sense of humour. Henri carried himself with a suave attitude, never leaving the house without his best attire on, hair sprayed to the heavens and smelling of his favourite cologne, all of which made him easy on the eyes and a favourite amongst the ladies. Through his life Henri was an adventurer who truly let the good times roll making new friends every chance he could. His deep love of music was also something many will remember about him. 

As his family, we all hope Henri is kicking back listening to his favourite George Strait songs, proud of how ‘he left nothing behind’.

There will be a celebration of life for Henri on August 25th from 1pm-5pm at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 262 - 7 John Street in Elmvale, Ontario.
