Mr. Henry Joseph Bowen (also known as Papa Joe), peacefully went to be with Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the age of 94.
Papa Joe was born to parents Oscar and Margaret Bowen on September 4, 1923 in Point Ligoure, Point Fortin, Trinidad. Papa Joe married Hilda Bowen and was a refinery operator. Throughout his career, Papa Joe worked at United British Oilfields of Trinidad (U.B.O.T), Shell Trinidad Limited and Trinidad and Tobago Oil Company Ltd. (TRINTOC). He then worked at Canada Post in Toronto, Ontario in his later years.
Papa Joe is survived by his siblings Charlie, Andre and Francis. He is preceded in his death by his late wife, Hilda and his other siblings Oscar, Millicent, Hilda, Edmund and Richard.
He is survived by his children Trevor, Deane, Wint, Keith, Victoria, Karen, Andrew and predeceased by his son Kenneth. His grandchildren are Kareem, Deana, Khés, Joshua, Darren, Sonelle, Nailah, Beverly, Gail, Natasha, Nigel, Shaunder, Marissa, Stacey, Ajay, Melissa, Michael and predeceased by his grandson Shawn.
His great grandchildren are Kareem Jr., Kelsie, Kylie, Trynaé, Trynélle and Ne'Quay.
Although Papa Joe is no longer with us here, we are at peace knowing that he is smiling down on us from Heaven with Granny Hilda.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Papa Joe on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Forest Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium at 4570 Yonge Street, Toronto Ontario at 1:00 p.m.
