Henry Norman Gates

GATES, Henry Norman – died peacefully on January 23, 2016 at 10:45 p.m. in the tender care of the wonderful people at Kensington Hospice, Toronto, and John Richards, his partner of 36 years, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Known to his family as Butch and to his friends as Hank, he was predeceased by his parents Henry Joseph “Hank” and mother Sarah Lavania “Vee” (McKeigan), and his brother Richard. He is survived by his loving aunt Marguerita Griffiths and cousins Joie Moore, Sherrie Adam, Val Thomson, Trish McKeigan, Tom Griffiths and Diane Dafoe. He loved to travel but didn’t get to do nearly enough of it. Hank was a loving, caring and generous man and he will be greatly missed.
