BOOTH, Howard Grant. Grant Booth, of Cookstown, passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on February 6th, 2021, one day shy of his 92nd birthday. Loving husband of the late Patricia Ann Booth. Father of Deborah Watt (Alan) and James (the late Shelley). Grandfather to Kenneth Watt (Kathy), Lisa Stephenson (Tim), Sutherland Booth (Jacq), and August and Carsten Booth. Great grandfather to Carter, Cameron, and Claire. As a young man, Grant's love of aircraft led him to work for de Havilland Canada on the Mosquito fighter-bomber, and A.V. Roe Canada on the Avro Arrow. He moved his young family to Alcona Beach in the late 1950's, building his own home on Lilac Drive. He got work as an office manager for a welding supply company in Barrie and worked there until his retirement. Always fond of camping and the outdoors, every summer saw Grant and family camping somewhere in Ontario. Even after the kids were grown with families of their own, Grant continued with his summer camping trips well into his 80's. We know he will be waiting there for us, campfire blazing and glass of wine in hand. A celebration of life will be held later in the summer as circumstances permit.
