Howe (Bo) Solomon Simmons
(January 25, 1940 – December 8, 2021)
Passed in peace on Wed., Dec. 8th, 2021 @ 8:40pm at the age of 81.
He was surrounded by his 2 sons, stepchildren, grandchildren, daughter-in-law and son-in-law at his bedside.
Bo was preceded in death by his loving wife Marlene Shirley MCrae-Simmons, his mother Rita, his father Cecil and sister Iona. Bo is survived by his sons Steven and Todd, their spouses Ann-Marie and Janice, his stepchildren Minda and Kerri, his siblings Ike, Sharon, Ada, Ray, Eugenia, Willard, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bo was born in Weymouth Falls, Nova Scotia and later moved to Toronto at the age of 17.
During his younger years Bo started working as a truck driver, a job he continued to do until he retired.
Bo was a warm hearted and generous man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a way of making you feel special when he spoke to you. Bo had a reputation of having a kind soul and was loved by many who had the pleasure to meet him; even people that just met him a few months ago loved him. He had a brightness in his eyes and spirit that would light up a room. Bo loved to be with his family and had hosts of friends whom he enjoyed playing pool with at his favorite pub The Red Cardinal. Anyone who knew Bo, would smile when they spoke his name and would have a story to tell about him. Bo was described by his friends of all ages of being a wise man, loving, kind, a class act, an amazing soul, a spiritual guide and just fun to be around. He often mentioned how proud he was of his sons and family and how lucky he was, but the truth is we were the honored ones to have had him in our lives. He will be sadly missed and will forever live in our hearts.
As Bo would say, “Bye for Now”.
