Hugh Gordon Thomas Jones

On a beautiful Spring evening, May 11, 2022, Hugh Gordon Thomas Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, and friend passed.

Hugh fought ALS with all his might, learning and doing everything he could to delay the progression. He was heroic. He is now at peace.

Hugh will be sadly and forever missed by Sandra, his wife of 41 years, his children Emily (and husband Steve) and Jeffrey (and wife Katherine), and the ‘apples of his eye’ granddaughters Elizabeth, Lauren, and Chloe. Watching his granddaughters grow and interact with life gave him great joy and satisfaction.

Hugh was born on March 15th, 1952 in Scarborough, Ontario to Marcia and Barry Jones and was the eldest of six children. Hugh was predeceased by his brother’s David, Mark and Dean. He will be missed by his survived siblings Steven and Louise, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Caring for Hugh when times got tougher was a team effort. The Jones family would like to acknowledge the care and compassion shown to them during this time: Dr. Turnbull and the ALS team in Hamilton, the Georgetown and Milton Hospital staff as well as the personal support workers who assisted Sandra and Hugh.
