Hugh Braybrooke Portman

Hugh Braybrooke Portman, born April 12, 1990, died on January 23, 2021. We were so lucky to have Hugh for thirty years.  Hugh loved his family, his friends and all people and animals. He was a talented musician and actor, and a graduate of the National Theatre School.  He was a devotee of meditation and yoga.  Above all, Hugh was gentle and kind.  After a diagnosis of Bipolar 1 at the age of 20, he worked hard to maintain a healthy and normal life.  Almost all of the time he succeeded but when the disease finally became too strong he took his own life.  He will be dearly missed by his parents, Nicholas and Elizabeth Portman, his brothers Frank (Shannon) Portman and Jonathan (Lindy) VanAmburg, his niece Gale and nephew Nathaniel, his grandmothers, Patricia Portman and Alice Braybrooke, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  We love you so much, Hugh.  In memory of our beloved boy, please be kind and gentle with the people in your lives.
