It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Irene Maria Melo.
Caring and sweet Tia to Linda, Shany, Martha and many more nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Sister to Maria Eduarda and Siberia, Cidalia (deceased), Dorvalina (deceased) and Manuel (deceased).
Irene arrived in Canada in 1969 and worked and contributed to her community until she was no longer able to work. She was a tough and independent lady who was proud that she was able to make it on her own for as long as she could do so. She always had candy or chocolates for her nieces and nephews and enjoyed the tradition of taking us out to the CNE every year. She will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday Oct. 14 from 2 to 4pm.
Tia will be laid to rest at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery in Mississauga.
