Broomhead, Isabella Emaline (nee MacDonald), died May 6, 2022, in her 103rd year. Born in Leslieville and a resident there for 94 years - long before it was known as Leslieville. She was the adored first grandchild of George Marriott and Margaret Tregellis, cherished first daughter of Hilda Marriott and Albert MacDonald, big sister to Margaret, cousin to Grace and Dorothy Marriott, and beloved wife of Donald Broomhead. All gone before.
A superbly talented seamstress who fashioned many wedding gowns for young brides and ball gowns for partygoers, Isabella also worked as a dresser for various productions at the O'Keefe Centre and later for Brigden's working on shoots for Eaton's catalogue. There was nothing she could not sew, knit or crochet, pattern or no pattern. An avid gardener, exceptional cook and animal and music lover, she was also a fan of the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. She had a very strong sense of duty to neighbours, friends and family and spent many hours trying to help in the best way she could. In later life, she was a resident at The Beechwood Retirement Residence and then Cooksville Care where she celebrated her 100th birthday with family, residents and staff.
Survived by nieces Vikki, Theresa, Val and Jane and their families and also by her cousin Grace's son Kenneth Deer, his wife Lila and their family and Helen Deer, wife of Grace's son Harvey Deer (deceased) and family.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date - for information email jseeker60@hotmail.com
