Ivy Virginia Gosse/Quigley

"Ivy" Virginia Gosse/Quigley (nee Barrett) passed away peacefully in her 86th year of life on September 28, 2024. Proud of her birthplace: Spaniards Bay, NL. She was predeceased by her parents, Lemuel and Maisie, her brother Clyde and sister, Audrey. As well as “Chet” Gosse (her first husband).

Ivy is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Russell and her son Gary (Debbie). One of her greatest treasures in life were her grandchildren, Matthew (Megan), Brittany and Ryan. She was especially proud of her great-granddaughter Sophie, and her great-grandsons Noah (aka. Button) and Deklan. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Rowena “Queenie” (the late David) and Rosalind (Junior).

She was the best “Auntie Ivy” to her nieces and nephews whom she was very close to and have fond memories of many family gatherings, especially at the cottage. There was food, fun, games and much laughter! Ivy had a profound effect on those she was close to. Ivy was kind, giving, funny and a totally selfless woman, who put those ahead of herself. Family – was Ivy’s world.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a private service planned for a future date.
