Jacqueline Ann Dallaway

After a long and brave battle against thyroid cancer, Jacqueline (Jacqui) passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022, in Ottawa, at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital at the age of 76. Beloved wife of Anthony (predeceased), loving mother of Adam (Jill) and Jane (Carey) and very proud Nana to Timothy, Samantha, Andrew, Charlotte and Amy, she will be immensely missed by her family and all her friends.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the outstanding people who treated and took care of our mother throughout her journey.

Thank you to Dr. Monika Krzyzanowska, Dr. Richard Tsang and Dr. Normand Laperriere and their teams that provided treatment to Jacqui at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. At the Ottawa Cancer Centre, our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Scott Laurie, Dr. Marc Gaudet, Dr. Lynn Chang and your teams and other hospital supports. To the numerous staff in the Palliative Care unit at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital in Ottawa, we will forever remember and be indebted to you for your compassionate care. Thank you to Dr. Peter Lawlor and Dr. Chris Barnes and especially to Julie, mom’s primary care nurse - we will never forget your devoted support of mom and we know you will never forget her sass.

We would also like to thank all the friends and family from the various circles and communities throughout the entirety of her life. Family and school friends back in England, neighbours from Groveland Crescent in Brampton and the cottage in Grand Bend, work colleagues, her Guiding family, the Ladies Group at Professor’s Lake and her extended family in Canada (the Freys, the Miles and cousin Paul).

Thanks to all of you for your support, friendships, and understanding of our mother’s needs and wishes which gave us many additional years with Jacqui and an end of life that was dignified, in comfort and surrounded by love and compassion for our mother and for us.

While a private cremation has taken place in Ottawa, we invite you to join us in a celebration of her life on Sunday, October 30th, 1:00- 3:00 p.m. at The Alderlea, 40 Elizabeth Street South, Brampton, L6Y 1R1.
