Jae Young Park

Jae Young Park passed away peacefully at Montfort Hospital on Thursday evening, October 24, 2024, at the age of 84. She was the cherished eldest daughter of Cho In Soon and Shim Chung Sub. Jae Young is survived by her three sons, Andrew (Juliana), Frank (Tracey), and Augustine (Judith), as well as her grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Alison, Jade, and Sara. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wan Bin, and survived by her siblings, Shim Jae Jung, Shim Jae Nam, Shim Jae Sung, and Shim Jae Ja and their families.

Born in Korea, Jae Young and Wan Bin, along with their children, immigrated to Canada in 1975, settling in Toronto, where they lived for 20 years. A devoted and loving mother, Jae Young worked tirelessly to provide for her family, balancing the challenges of starting anew in a new country with the demands of raising three boys. Her warmth and resilience were the cornerstones of her family life.

Jaeyoung's dedication extended beyond her family life; she was a hardworking businesswoman who successfully operated a series of convenience stores in Toronto. In 1995, she and Wan Bin moved to Ottawa to be closer to Andrew and Augustine, who had relocated there in 1992. Jae Young continued her work, owning and operating a convenience store in Ottawa and demonstrating her unwavering commitment to providing for her family.

Jae Young and Wan Bin retired in 2004, embarking on new adventures together. They spent their golden years traveling across Canada, to the USA, Mexico, Korea, and Europe, fulfilling their dream of seeing the world. Jae Young embraced every journey with curiosity and joy, creating cherished memories with her loved ones.

The Park family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Montfort Hospital for their care.

A Roman Catholic funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Hope Cemetery and Crematorium.
