Our beloved Jagmohan Kaura, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, December 01, 2020, surrounded by his family in Hamilton, Canada.
Coming from humble beginnings, sacrificing his own education for the family; he ensured that his family is supported while he did three jobs in a small town to ensure his brothers complete their studies & make a career. After marriage, he relocated to another town & started from scratch. As a self-made man, he not only excelled financially but socially because of his sheer intelligence, positive attitude & bustling energy. Have experienced his firebrand attitude to go above & beyond when honours of family & friends are at stake. Above all else he always stood to his principles and higher moral ground which will never be forgotten. He was well known in the political & administrative circle of Punjab & Chandigarh (INDIA). He was very much involved in his social life and made many positive contributions in the society with upholding the honesty. He survived the dark face of insurgency; assassination attempts & political sabotages but never ever compromised on principles. Having such a remarkable public life is usually unheard of and to us he was a true statesman.
He was a loving father, provided the best to his family & people who he always considered family. He leaves behind his wife Mohinder, his daughter Monika & son-in-law, Gagan; his son Upender & daughter-in-law, Neha; grandchildren: Leepakshi, Chirag, Chervy & Sia. He was loved fully and closely until the day he left us. He loved to discuss politics, always eager to learn new things, try new food, stay current & updated with world around. His parting words to the family were to not only respect the dead but love them more while they are living. He taught us the true meaning of family respect and to obey the parents.
Jagmohan Kaura was always a strong, fearless, and independent man and was able to pass these qualities onto his family. He will continue to inspire his family to go after what they want with a full heart and to be strong willed. He taught future generations about humility and less fortunate beginnings but also how to enjoy the present moment in the company of loved ones. He was the pillar of strength for many & a guiding force for his loved ones.
He leaves behind many friends who were close to him like family and he will be sadly missed by them all.
He lived a full life and has now finally reached peace and his final resting place.
A private visitation followed by a cremation will be held with immediate family members on Friday, December 4th, 2020. Separate invitations will be sent for a "Kirya" (Prayers for the departed soul) at a later date.
Condolences may be left in the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
