A Force of Nature, Now Quiet
We mournfully announce the passing of James “Jim, Jimmy” Robert Carroll, 65, of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Jim, a man who could charm a snake and outlast a battery, passed away on November 16th, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born on January 7th, 1959, to Rita and Delbert, Jim burst onto the scene like a caffeinated squirrel, and never slowed down. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Delbert, and his brothers, Steven, Bruce, and David.
Jim leaves behind his son, Philip, and granddaughter, Delilah; daughter, Katelynn (Kevin), and granddaughters, Loretta and Nora; sister, Cindy (Mike); brother, Michael (Rachel); close friends, Val and Liny; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jim’s infectious laughter, quick wit, and uncanny ability to find humor in any situation will be sorely missed. He was a master of dad jokes, a lover of a good laugh and truly a wonderful human.
Jim was a passionate music lover and was incredibly proud of the music he created. He was a true artist, pouring his heart and soul into every note.
A testament to his strength and resilience, Jim overcame many forms of addiction and used his experiences to support and inspire countless others on their own journeys of recovery.
Let’s celebrate Jim’s life by remembering his outrageous stories, his unwavering optimism, and his love for riding motorcycles and a good fishing spot.
Per Jim’s request, there will be no formal ceremony. However, if you would like to pay your respects, please take a drive by Centennial Lake.
Please add any pictures you have of Jim to our Gallery to remember him by.
Rest in peace, Jimmy. You’ve earned it.
Don’t disturb my serenity
